Presentation and Promotion Program of the Istanbul Mushaf

Weaving the beauties of the Islamic civilization, the Istanbul Mushaf was prepared by a team of 66 individuals that are professionals such as the Islamic calligraphers who are students of Hüseyin Kutlu, one of the most important traditional calligraphers of the time, illuminators and bookbinders. The team worked on the Mushaf for months, thoroughly interpreting and applying ten periods in Islamic civilization that have formed distinct artistic écoles of their own.

With the personal demand of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Mushaf was minutely created with the utmost delicacy and devotion, regarding the legibility of the calligraphy as well.

The program exhibited the high-class artistry of the Istanbul Mushaf by displaying the profound heritage and the subtle taste of the Islamic calligraphy art. Furthermore, the Istanbul Mushaf brought forward the respect and love towards the Holy Quran and overall books in Islamic societies through this art’s aesthetic value.

In April 27, 2022, Presentation and Promotion Program of the Istanbul Mushaf was held in the Grand Çamlıca Mosque Conference Hall with the participation and speech of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
